  • Overview

    The Jira System Administrator is a pivotal role in the Business Operations team at WorkWave as it continues to refine its business processes, data, and integrations as it relates to Project Management, Issue Tracking, Development efforts and insight into cross-team work across the business. This role will be instrumental in optimizing systems, tools and data vital to WorkWave’s corporate initiatives and success.


    The Jira System Administrator will balance between the Business Operations, Engineering, and other relevant departments (depending on prioritized efforts and initiatives)--ensuring all workflows are carried out and corporate data needs are satisfied from both an operational standpoint and a corporate KPI level. This role will enable the driving of data quality and reliability, optimized workflows and internal performance. It will also be pivotal in establishing enhanced automation and integrations of internal systems utilized across the organization. Jira is a tool that WorkWave has adopted on only a handful of teams and that we would like to broaden it’s usage across the company.


    This person must be a highly motivated, self-sufficient, organized professional with quality communication skills to train power users among teams how to best use the system.


    • Become familiar with current  setup/structure/configuration of current PM / ALM Tools
    • Work closely with the relevant teams to optimize workflows and ensure necessary data is accessible and clean as Jira rolls out to varying departments (both business and technical)
    • When new workflows, etc are decided upon,  understand all business needs and requirements to set things in motion and refine the system to fit corporate needs.
    • Responsible for the Set-Up/Maintenance/Optimization/Configuration of Jira as needed Including:
      • Testing/Sandbox/POC
      • Production Setup, Workflows
      • Trouble-Shooting and Ad Hoc refinement
      • New Users / Deactivation of offboarding users
      • Roles & Permissions
      • Project Setup
    • Responsible for setup/integration/maintenance of any 3rd party software/plug-ins introduced into the relevant ecosystem
    • Responsible for the health of system integrations including Salesforce and possibly proprietary software if needed
    • Responsible for the creation and dissemination of documentation around new processes to users and backend configuration/customization (when applicable)
    • Responsible for fast-paced on-time delivery of all initiatives related to systems in the roles purview
    • Creation of ad hoc and recurring reports as needed
    • Responsible for updating data to maintain data consistency with revisions to system
    • Optimizing system for performance reporting on operational levels and Corporate KPI levels
    • Establishment of governance reports / checks to ensure proper usage in system based on data outputs, i.e. the tracking and monitoring of proper/improper usage
    • Training of relevant teams in usage of systems in question


    • 2+ years administering Jira
    • Familiarity with Project Management, development workflows, PM Methodologies (e.g. Agile, Scrum, Kanban)
    • Engineering background a plus
    • Experience with Atlassian eco-system
    • Familiarity or expertise with APIs
    • Highly capable of developing and maintaining relationships
    • Self-starter; passion for solving challenges
    • Creative problem-solving skills
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities while meeting deadlines
    • Results-driven with strong attention to detail
    • Strong technical skills
    • Solid communication skills – both written/oral
    • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment


    A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
